WebTPA (The Hartford Edition)

What is My Health Hub

My Health Hub serves as a digital member portal, offering a personalized interface for members to access, oversee, and comprehend their healthcare benefits.

Project Duration

13+ months

(Dec 2022 - Present)

My Role

Associate Product Manager / UX Designer

My Responsibilities

Gathering business requirements, high-fidelity mockups, iterating on designs, mobile app designs

The Problem

Currently, My Health Hub is designed to reflect the branding of WebTPA, with limited options for client customization such as logo updates and color selection. However, this does not meet the branding standards required by our client, The Hartford.

The Goal

Redesign the app and all its features to more closely adhere to the Hartford's, typography, color scheme, iconography, and button styles

STARTING THE REDESIGN

Understanding The Hartford’s Branding Style and Standards

We were presented with the Hartford’s standard UI Kit containing all their branding standards. After reviewing this kit was recreated in Figma to be later utilized in the redesign process

Redesigning Current State

I began by redesigning the screens present in our current state production app for My Health Hub. These included essential features such as the login flow, contact preferences, dashboard, claims details, plan information, and editing HIPAA Authorization settings.

01

Members can log into My Health Hub and view they're benefit coverage information.

06

Edit HIPAA Authorizations

Members can edit which of their dependents has access to see their information and can request to view their dependents information as well.

Redesigning Submit a Claim

After finalizing the current state screens, I transitioned to working on the Submit a Claim feature, a feature that is currently under development. This feature is notably intricate, encompassing eight distinct flow processes designed to guide members through the claim submission process and assist them in providing all required information. These flows were then presented to The Hartford for thorough review, feedback, and final approval before the commencement of the development phase.

Takeaways

Impact

This refreshed iteration of the My Health Hub app ensures that The Hartford can confidently introduce the application to its members, ensuring it upholds their standards and maintains a cohesive appearance across all platforms.

What I Learned

With this project's considerable scale, I had the opportunity to explore Figma in greater depth, leveraging advanced features such as auto layout to streamline the design process.
