Original System: iiiPUT

Originally built in VB6 in the early 2000s, iiiPUT is now an antiquated system that lacks the usability and user experience expected of modern applications.

Redesigned System: Websphere

“WebSphere is a newly redesigned claims system built as a WinUI application, created to improve usability, introduce modern functionality, and provide a more streamlined experience for internal users.

User Pain Points

The finance team lacked the ability to export files in bulk, creating inefficiencies in their workflow.

Customer service teams lacked an internal tool to search for providers on behalf of members, limiting their ability to replicate the experience available to members.

Finance Solution

Created a Master Export feature that automatically gathers all files that have completed processing steps 1–3 and exports them in bulk to their designated folder locations, significantly reducing manual effort for the finance team.

Customer Service Solution

Developed an internal provider search page that integrates with the ClearCost Health API, allowing customer service representatives to quickly locate providers using the same data source available to members.

Impact

WebSphere replaces the outdated iiiPUT system with a modern, accessible platform that minimizes learning curves, reduces workflow overhead, and delivers a more efficient experience for internal users.

What I Learned

Learned how to successfully transition a legacy system to a modern platform while preserving critical functionality and improving usability through a more cohesive user experience.
